monchrome images from three decades of camera-slinging across
North London has produced a remarkable time capsule of the area
at it's coolest, energetic, quirky, and sometimes sleazy. Sparkle
boss, Spike Hull joined sax king Aaron Liddard and a throng of
old and nu skool faces to get the exhibition off to lively start.
Catch it (and buy it!) until the end of November at the Arlington
Gallery 73 Parkway Camden Town - opposite the legendary Dublin
Castle along from the Jazz Cafe. But don't worry Normski hasn't
given up the music (as if) - he's still rocking the turntables

After
many months nursing a back injury that has effectively prevented
her from taking many exotic international bookings we are very
pleased to tell you that premier urban DJ starlet Emma Feline
is now much recovered and is looking forward to being available
for long-haul destination bookings once again.
Emma has been
making steady progress but has wisely been taking things carefully
in recent weeks, keeping to gigs mainly within the UK and European
arena building up her strength for a trip to the USA in December,
and is throwing her diary open to all destinations from Christmas
/ New Year and throughout 2007.
What can we say
except glad to have you back in full effect, and careful pulling
your record boxes off the airport carousel!

For
the last few months Aaron Liddard has been blowing session sax
on and off for gigs and recordings with delightfully vampish
soul songstress Amy Winehouse. So very impressed has Amy been
with the talents of our very own king of the sax that she has
invited Aaron to be part of her official band and he made his
first TV appearance recently with Amy on the Sharon Osbourne
show |

content with that, Aaron/Amy followed up with an appearance on
Top Of The Pops 2 on 21st October and an up coming recording
for The Chart Show and Aaron is a firm feature of Amy's new album
out soon and UK tour . And we have to say it couldn't happen
to a more talented and lively musician, as all our customers
who book Aaron regularly can testify. Nice one mate! |

Anyone
involved in the Trance scene will have heard the name Sophie
Sugar a lot over the last 2 years, thanks to her massive trance
anthems, 'Call of Tomorrow' and 'Isis', ELEVATION TO UKs No 1
Female Trance DJ, and the recent announcement that Armin has
signed her to his premier trance label Armada.
Her debut EP ' Fallen Too Far'
will be released on the 'A State of Trance' imprint early next
year and looks like being her biggest hit to date.
Promos are already being hammered
by Armin on his weekly radio show (and by just about anyone who
can get their lucky hands on one) - and the results are creating
sugar waves across the gloabl trance scene.

to Mark Murray our ace commercial DJ who's guest slots and NYE
session and innovational attitude at Revolution Fallowfield,
the key night spot of Manchester Student Village, has won him
a weekly residency there, building in just two short weeks (despite
the England debacle) a roadblock party 'Corruption on Campus'
for the venue.
We'd like to
say this was a surprise for us, but it isn't, as Mark is THE
MAN when it comes to putting new fire into flagging nights, tired
residencies, or kicking a new night off with a bang. Don't

The
smouldering Miss Kelly Marie makes a welcome return home to the
UK in October after a smash debut season as Hed Kandi resident
in Ibiza consolidating the regular bookings earlier on 2006 from
the world's leading funky house promotion.
But there's no
rest for the wicked(est DJs) - Kelly Marie has a busy schedule
back in Blighty at Hed Kandi Leeds, and bookings pouring in for
more international dates including repeat booking requests already
slotting into 2007. We love it when our glam DJ's are sizzling
at the top like we always knew they would - gives us a warm fuzzy
(smug) feeling back here at Sparkle Spires.

With
great regret we have to tell you that despite their glossy advertising
and big marketing, Connoisseur DJ the manufacturers of the DJ
Deck Suite, have continually failed to deliver on their agreements
in respect of customers referred from Sparkle, and finacially
and in products promised to those booked to demonstrate and endorse
this product.
As result Sparkle
Agency and the artists concerned have withdrawn all endorsement
and support for this product and we would strongly recommend
that anyone dealing with Connoisseur DJ or their owner Paul Vaid
do so with extreme caution - they have behaved less than honestly
in their dealings with us and recovery action is being taken
against them.

For
the last few months we have looking at ways to help our non-English
speaking customers get a better experience from our website.
However, providing high quality translation for multi-languages
over many specialist content pages that are regularly updated
is prohibitively expensive. On the other hand push-button
machine page translations, while cheap and always up to date,
convert everything literally, including artist and other proper
names and hyperlinks - often with very garbled results.
After
long consideration we have opted for a user console from ImTranslator.net. This allows the reader
to translate as much or as little of the text as they wish, whilst
maintaining original page text and structure for them to refer
back to. It's not word perfect but we believe it's the
best compromise and covers most common languages. Try it
out below - it's a free utility so click the text link to get
the code to copy and paste into your own webpages, e-mails and
e-flyers - it's very straight forward..

to increased demand we seeking one further UK-based freelance
or self-employed printwork and web designer to work from
their own home/studio to help us meet overflow workload. You
must be an imaginative designer with experience outputting for
professional print standard to deadlines. We prefer PC-based
designers however you can be Mac skilled providing you can receive
and deliver work in PC-friendly formats - most of our customers
only use PC. Broadband connection is a must and a large
capacity email account. You must be good with spelling, grammer,
and attention to detail.
Familiarity
with the dance music industry, culture and fashion is essential
and you will already have a portfolio of work in this sector
to show us. Commissions are usually piece work rather than
hourly rates - mainly flyers, posters, logos, CD art, and artist
profiles. We also have web, e-flyer, eBay and MySpace design
work so if you have Flash, CSS, and HTML etc skills then even
better.

Fatale, Miss Behavin', SophieDJ and rising star Candice McKenzie
have all been chosen to add some additional glamour to the Stella
McCartney beauty range promotion at top West End department store
Selfridges. The promotion which runs for two weeks will feature
2 x 2-hour cool and funky DJ sets every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday and Saturday lunchtime and late afternoon.
Brand
promotion and sponsor work certainly seems to be popular with
our lady DJ's at the moment with several other contracts underway
including Joyce Mercedes headining a massive Chivas Regal event
in Hong Kong.

BEHAVIN' TO JUDGE HEINEKEN 'THIRST' |
|
The
Gulf's premier DJ competition run under the long established
Heineken 'Thirst' banner attracts performers from all over the
region. Past judges have included Paul Oakenfold, Tiësto,
Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler, and we are very pleased to say that
our top female spinner Miss Behavin' has been invited by Heineken
to join the judging panel for 2006 as well as headlining the
performance event at Bahrain's top club 'BJ's.
Miss B's last
visit to BJ's was described by manager Rich Evans as "The
best guest DJ we have ever had play at the club!". High
praise indeed from a venue that has hosted shows for the cream
of the World's DJs.

SPARKLE
DJS BEAT TERROR CHAOS
Despite
the delays and large scale cancellations of flights following
the recent terror alert we are please to say that due to the
determination, patience and ingenuity of our artists we had a
100% success rate of DJ's in the air on both the 10th and 11th
August and arriving at their destinations several hours late
but in time to perform their engagements, leaving the Sparkle
8.5 year unbroken appearance record intact.
Special
thanks to SophieDJ who put aside her understandable anxieties
about flying on Thursday to the Middle East, and braved the Heathrow
traffic and departure lounge gridlock for hours to finally get
away to perform in Alexandria Egypt. Top girl we're proud of
you!

were recently asked to provide some single female DJs for a new
prime time ITV dating show to replace Blind Date. For privacy's
sake we won't disclose which brave hearts volunteered, but some
lucky ladies will not only get a healthy dose of prime time TV
exposure, a luxurious weekend away and sumptious meal a deux,
but may also meet their Prince Charming in the process!
Sharp
eyed daytime couch potatoes may have seen DJ Chris C go head
to head with his best mate on C5's 'Brainteazer'. Despite a runaway
start Chris ended up being a gracious loser, however, glamorous
show host Alex Lovell took a bit of a shine to our Chris and
kindly gave the dance DJ/Producer some well-deserved big-ups.

House Music agency over the years we have referred on many booking

field as a professional courtesy - it's resulted in many successful
